Ninh Thuan is one of Vietnam's largest salt-producing regions. The Ca Na salt fields are especially beautiful at dawn — pink light reflecting off pure white salt, farmers carrying loaded baskets in and out. A rare traditional agricultural landscape.

• •Arriving late — salt farmers work 5-9am, go home at midday due to heat
• •Not asking permission before photographing farmers at work
• •Walking into the salt pans — damages the salt and is dangerous

Practical Tips

• Arrive at 5:30-7am to shoot sunrise over the salt fields
• Located along Highway 1 near Ca Na Beach — easy to combine both
• Bring a camera — extremely photogenic scenery
• Respect salt farmers, don't disrupt their work
