Why Go Here
Bau Trang is Vietnam's largest white sand dune, beautiful scenery like a miniature Sahara desert. The sunset here is stunning, golden light on white sand creates a magical scene. Perfect for photography, climbing dunes, sand sledding.
When Not To Go
Midday (12pm-3pm) - harsh sun, sand temperature up to 50°C, can't walk barefoot. If going during the day, bring sandals, hat, sunscreen.
Common Mistakes
- •Going at midday - hot sand, glare, photos won't look good
- •Wearing dark clothes - hot and doesn't stand out on white sand
- •Not bringing water - desert, no shops nearby
- •Going after 6pm - sun sets fast, gets dark, dangerous going down the dune
Practical Tips
- Arrive at 4-5pm (sunset 5:30-6pm)
- Bring drinking water (at least 1 liter/person)
- Wear bright colors for photos (white, yellow, red)
- Entrance fee: 20-30k VND/person
- Can rent jeep to the top (100-150k VND/vehicle)
